Ridgewood Freemasons to Open Doors to Public

September 1, 2009, Ridgewood, NJ— Fidelity Lodge #113 of Free & Accepted Masons of the State of New Jersey, will be holding an Open House on Saturday, October 3 from 11 am to 3 pm as part of a state wide Open House initiative. The lodge welcomes men 21 years old and older and their friends and family to visit the lodge and learn more about Freemasonry. The Open House will discuss the fraternal, social and community service activities that the lodge participates in throughout the greater Ridgewood communities. Members will be on site to answer questions, provide a tour of the lodge building and discuss the history of the Freemasons and what is required for membership. The Open House will also highlight the appending bodies of Freemasonry which include but are not limited to the Order of the Eastern Star a woman’s organization and The Ethan Allen Chapter of DeMolay, an organization for young men ages 12 – 21. Food and refreshments will be served, all are welcome to attend; RSVP is appreciated but not required. The event will take place at Fidelity Lodge #113, 99 South Maple Ave., Ridgewood. About the Freemasons
Freemasonry is not a secret society it is social organization which a system of morality, veiled in allegory and illustrated with symbols. It is a social organization which fosters friendship, morality and brotherly love. Community service and philanthropy to the community at large is a primary support to all Freemasons. Freemasons do not actively recruit for new members; to become one, ask one. To be eligible for membership you must be a man of 21 years of age or more, having a belief in a Supreme Being (No particular faith is required or excluded, all are welcome), able to afford the initiation and annual dues without causing hardship to yourself or your family and should enter Masonry of your own free will and accord.
