National Rebuilding Day: Saturday April 30

Posted: Wednesday, April 27, 2011

Rebuilding Together's National Rebuilding Day occurs annually on the last Saturday in April. On April 30th, some 70,000 volunteers, working with RT affiliates nationwide, will repair and renovate thousands of homes for low-income homeowners.

Rebuilding Together Bergen County volunteers will be hard at work at eight sires in Bogota, Englewood, Fair Lawn, Lodi, Moonachie, Paramus, and Ridgewood. We're installing energy-efficient windows, providing a ramp for a disabled Korean War veteran, adding grab bars and accessability modifications to a bathroom, repairing flooring, and so much more. Here's how you can help:

Donate: Help us assist more neighbors in need, make a tax-deductible contribution to Rebuilding Together Bergen County.

Participate: Get involved. We could use your know-how, particularly if you are skilled at carpentry, masonry, plumbing, or general home repairs.

Heroes at Home:

Heroes at Home is a program Sears Holdings Corporation has created in partnership with Rebuilding Together in response to an urgent need to assist military families facing hardship.

Heroes at Home is one of the many initiatives through which Sears Holdings acknowledges the sacrifice made by our troops every day in the line of duty, while supporting and honoring those heroes who remain at home.
