Bolger Heritage Center:

Monday, October 3rd, 7pm Library Auditorium. Special Storytellers @RPL with Elena Gorokhova. Join us for our live interview of local author Elena Gorokhova. Listen to her unique story of growing up in Leningrad and how she emigrated to the United States. Learn about what inspired her to become a writer. All are welcome to enjoy refreshments and see how you can also participate in our oral history project to tell your story.

Saturday, October 8th, 2pm Library Auditorium. Notable Restaurants and Their Historic Origins. Join Phil Jaeger on his talk about many local restaurants, mostly in New Jersey but several in neighboring states, that began life as long ago as the 1700s. In every case the building itself is an important part of New Jersey's heritage whether it originally was a stagecoach stop, railroad station, school, castle, private residence or other historic structure. The program includes not only the origins of many of New Jersey's notable dining establishments but also views of the restaurant as it appears today.

Wednesday, October 12th, 7pm Library Auditorium. Ray Banta's War. Local Historian John Clark will speak about his recently published book, "Ray Banta's War" which describes the experiences of the portable surgical hospitals (PSHs) in China during WWII. Clark's book is mainly based on the letters, diary and unit log of Major Raymond E. Banta MC, who commanded the 40th stationed in China. This talk will cover the persistence and professionalism of the men of the PSHs.

Storytellers @RPL is now LIVE - Listen to Ridgewood stories on our new webpage: RidgewoodLibrary.org/storytellers. We all have a story to tell. Here is a chance to share yours.
